The HUG Award© February 19, 2012

I am truly honored for having received from bumpyroadtobubba The HUG Award© (Hope Unites Globally)

Thank you my friend! It could only have come from someone as special as you!

As you may guess by the name, this is a very special award and I quote:

“The HUG Award© is for people with an expectant desire for the world, for which they: Hope for Love; Hope for Freedom; Hope for Peace; Hope for Equality; Hope for Unity; Hope for Joy and Happiness; Hope for Compassion and Mercy; Hope for Faith; Hope for Wholeness and Wellness; Hope for Prosperity; Hope for Ecological Preservation; Hope for Oneness

The HUG Award© recognizes and honors those who help keep hope alive in our current world, which is plagued by war, natural disasters, and economic recession. They nurture hope, in any of the above areas (in italics), by the work they do, or in their personal lives with things such as blogging, public speaking, charity work, etc.

The HUG Award© is for anyone, anywhere in the world, who meets the guidelines and wants to be nominated for the award. Please leave a comment on this page if you are interested in receiving this award, or if you would like to nominate someone else for the award.

The HUG Award© is for people who, without giving up or compromising their own religious, spiritual, or political beliefs, are able to nurture hope and respect the dignity of all people.

The HUG Award© is for those who, without bias or prejudice, use their resources and gifts to make the world a better place for everyone.

The HUG Award©is for people who have a hope or an expectant desire that the work or talents they use in things such as blogging, public speaking, charity work, etc., will make a positive impact on the world.”

You can read all about its origins, purposes and rules here.

Once this award is not blog specific, I will hand my first HUG Award© to my uncle Ste, an animal lover who fights everyday for the wellbeing of all the creatures of this planet and probably one of the purest souls I’ve ever met.

The next HUG Award© goes back to bumpyroadtobubba, a living example of HOPE and LOVE.

Another HUG Award© is for this incredible Facebook group called Dane Yard, a place where so many great people share their stories and love for their Danes and help and support one another.

And then, some more HUGs to these blogs I’ve come across and got hooked on for so many reasons:

I believe I handed them well and hope they do the same.

Hopeful slobbers,

One Lovely Blog Award February 11, 2012

Filed under: Awards — Milka [the Great Dane] @ 12:57 pm

Well, folks, I’m glad to announce this is ONE LOVELY BLOG!

No, I’m not bragging (ok, maybe I am, just a little bit)! That’s sweet bumpyroadtobubba who says so. She handed this nice award to me (along with 4 other lovely blogs) after my last Wordless Wednesday post. Ok, I humbly admit it… it’s lovely! 🙂

So, thank you my dear bumpyroadtobubba! And, let me tell you, you definitely deserve the 2 lovely blog awards! I’m sure everyone will agree with me after they take a look at your blog and get to know your lovely story with your baby and your furry friends.

From what I’ve learned, when you receive this award, you have to share 7 facts about yourself and then hand it over to 5 other blogs.

So, let’s start with the 7 facts. Oh my! What to choose? 🙂

  1. Mum was always more of a cat person, but around her 30’s she felt she needed the companionship only a doggie can give you, and that led to me.

  3. I’m kind of a Scooby Doo around strange people and strange environments. Mum thinks that’s because she got me when I was over 4 mo and not much socialized. Anyhow, I’m getting much better everyday and she’s really happy and proud!

  5. As for other doggies, I’m precisely the opposite! Just wanna be friends and play a lot! No matter if they’re big or small, young or old, male or female. I actually get over excited when I run across them. Mum’s working on that too so I can be a little calmer and not distress the other doggies.

  7. Mum says I changed her life completely: she’s much more patient and tolerant and laughs more easily at things that would’ve made her mad before.

  9. I go to work with mum everyday. So, I’m always with her, day and night. When she leaves for a meeting and she can’t take me, though I’m not alone and I’m with some of my other humans, I’m somewhat anxious and don’t really rest until she comes back.

  11. I love to nibble on my humans’ beards. 🙂

  13. My true alpha isn’t mum, but uncle Luis, one of my work colleagues and (bearded) friends. (Please, don’t
be sad, mum! You know I love you and I try to make you happy… but you’re my momma, you know? It’s not quite the same.)

As for the lovely blogs I hand this award to and recommend you visit, here they go:

  • Honey the Great Dane – It was with Honey mum learned how to click train me and she was my inspiration for my own blog. Love to follow her adventures and just love the relationship she has with her humans, specially Hsin-Yi. They have so much fun together!

  • Bassa – Bassa just makes me smile everyday. Besides being absolutely gorgeous, her daily adventures and the way she looks at things are truly delightful. Besides, she lives in Georgia and she shares lots of info about the people and habits. Precious!

  • Great Dane Info – This blog shares the daily life of 2 Great Dane boys, Finn and Kai, who live in the most amazing place. The landscapes are just to drool for! There’s lots of astonishing shots (much credit to their human and her skills with the camera) and funny posts. Wish I could move in with them!

  • Just Ramblin’ – You mix day-to-day life, a camera and introspection and you get this blog. I’m hooked. Always waiting for the next post!

  • Benny Wrinklebottom – The wisdom of a rescued boxer with a very particular sense of humor and a very happy life.

Hope you love these blogs as much as I do!

Proud slobbers,

Got a Liebster Blog Award! :) December 26, 2011

Filed under: Awards — Milka [the Great Dane] @ 9:35 pm

Hello my friends!!

After Christmas, I came to check on my blog and guess what I found!

I got a Liebster Blog Award from Luke the Greatest Dane. You can check out his blog by clicking here or you can find it in my “friends blogs” list, on the right.

This means Luke got the award himself and thought my blog was worthy of it!

I’m so honoured! Thank you my friend! You’re sweet and I’m really glad you have some good time with my adventures! Luv ya!

So, what is this award and how do you get it?

Well, in my research I found out this award is meant for small audience blogs (less then 200 followers)  and it somehow works as a way of bringing out of the box these small, promising blogs. The one who receives must choose 5 of his favourite (liebster, in German) blogs, the ones he finds worthy of the distinction. And so the word spreads… 🙂

The rules are fairly simple.

  1. Thank the blogger that gave you the award and then add a link to their blog.
  2. Reveal your top five picks (with less than 200 readers) and let them know by leaving a comment on their blog.
  3. Copy and Paste the Award to Your Blog.
  4. Hope that the people you’ve sent the award to forward it to their five favorite up-and-coming bloggers, and keep it going!

Now that you know what this award is, you can check out the 5 blogs I choose to give it to:

#1 – Tucker, The Confessions of a Maine Dane

Along with Honey’s (I can’t give it to her because I think she’s got way more then 200 followers, but she surely deserves the distinction!), Tucker’s blog was one of the first Dane blogs I found and inspired me in creating my own. Besides, I must confess I had a huge crush on Tucker! *blush*

#2 – Danes World

#3 – A Wonderful Dog’s Life

#4 – No Saddle Required

#5 – Kasha The Dainty Great Dane’s Blog

Of course I would also give it to Bassa (checkout his blog here), who makes me laugh like crazy and learn a lot too… but he already got it! So, honourable mention to you Bassa. 😉

Anyway, I could only give it to five! But, if you check out my “friends blogs” on the right, you can find some more. All of them are blogs I like to follow. That’s why I list them. 🙂

Hope you have as much fun as I’ve had surfing through these great blogs and reading about their lives’ adventures!

See you soon!
